2021 - A fresh start!

New year; new me! Let’s face it, we all want a fresh start when it comes to the new year. Fresh goals, intentions, mindset; the sky is the limit.

There is no denying that the festive season is exciting and at times, difficult. Whether you’re on top of everything and organised like Marie Kondo, or leave it all to the last minute, it’s a hectic time for us all.

With the ‘silly season’, comes all the excessive eating, drinking and cat naps. This of course means, high fat, high carb, and potentially low protein meals, along with tasty cocktails or beers. I absolutely love Christmas and all the above, however, I know that it’s not the healthiest time of year. Of course, we can all be ‘good’ about what we choose to put in our gobs, but honestly, who the heck wants to do that? But we also must remember, the heavier eating and drinking means two things: weight gain and skin concerns.

Our bodies are always working overtime to eliminate built up toxins, which may cause rashes, pimples, blackheads, and other skin conditions.
If you have been experiencing any of these skin concerns from over-indulging this past month, head to our Acne Bundle: All these ingredients are combined to help 'terminate' the presence of acne and inflammation on your skin!
This is why fruits and veggies are amazing for our bodies as they contain so many different antioxidants and vitamins, which help the production of collagen. Whereas refined sugars can break down our collagen, ageing our skin.

I must get a little ‘science-y’ on you guys, but you HAVE to know this, because it blew my mind! The scientific term is known as “AGEs” (advanced glycation end products); meaning when sugar molecules latch onto collagen molecules, together, they form brand new molecules: AGEs. The unfortunate part is that our bodies can not break this bond, so all those collagen proteins that form smooth, youthful skin, becomes lost forever. EEK!
We all want our glowing, youthful skin to stay, so please, DON’T pass me the dessert.

This year I have vowed to myself I will take better care of my body. After all, my body is a temple and it’s the only one ill have for the rest of my life, right. I have set myself some small goals along with some long-term goals, to help keep my vision in check. I haven’t just thought about the outcome that I want; I have also thought about the steps I need to take to achieve this goal.
It’s not going to be easy, but with a positive mindset and keeping myself accountable, I will be able to achieve anything I set my mind to.

2021 fam…make this year, a year to remember. Keep those goals set, keep focused and make this year your bish.

Tenille,

Xx
