Can Marine Collagen Be Vegan?

Little did I know when we first started our company, that there was such a thing called Seaweed Collagen.
Being an all vegan and cruelty free company, we needed a way to incorporate a vegan collagen into our brand and products. Then we found out about vegetable, or, seaweed collagen.
Collagen is a protein mainly found in hair, skin, nails, bones and ligaments… from an animal; We don’t want that!!!

Seaweed collagen includes loads of minerals and nutrients that helps to improve the appearance and feel of the skin.
Seaweed protein applied straight onto the skin, helps target fine lines and wrinkles, improves elasticity, skin texture and firmness. And you know the best thing about seaweed collagen…is that it’s the same type of collagen found in our skin, meaning our skin easily absorbs and retains it, which can’t be said for animal collagen.

So, my answer is yes, marine collagen can be vegan, but you need to be careful with how this ingredient is listed.
Our Hyaluronic Collagen Fusion contains Vegetable Collagen (seaweed), meaning the collagen comes directly from seaweed.
Other products may state marine collagen meaning the collagen is most likely derived from fish or other sea-life, so be sure to look out for this kind of ingredient.

I hope this was an informative read for you all. Let us know if you have any questions.
